the conservation efforts, cultural and environmental education as well as ethics and
responsibility. The study was conducted using different techniques of qualitative research:

identify the Oman’s major tourist attractions and sustainability issues affecting the industry. The
secondary data collected from the literature review were used to identify ways in which
sustainable tourism development in the Omani tourism industry can be achieved. The result shows
that there is lack of sufficient community involvement in tourism activities. The result also shows
that there is lack of proper control of waste generation at the attraction sites. The results also
indicate that there are laws and policies in place help in preservation and conservation tourism
facilities. However, further strengthening is needed to increase the number of natural reserves
