مفاربة تلفّظية للنفي في العربية الفصحى

The study aims to revisit negation in Standard Arabic (SA) from an Enunciative perspective that takes into consideration the role of the speaker/writer and contextual factors in the production and reception of negative utterances. It is built on the assumption that the speaker's processing strategy in discourse is the key to understanding the logic of negating in SA. In spite of its metalinguistic richness, negation in Arabic has not triggered any significant research that accounts for the working of the six formal negators lam, leisa, maa, laa, lan and lammaa. Rather, traditional approaches still dominate the grammatical landscape and continue to exercise unquestioned authority in pedagogical grammar. By showing that normative and descriptive approaches are heavily handicapped by direct assignment of chronological meaning to meaningless negators, the study offers an utterer-centered framework for a systematic analysis of negation. Findings suggest that negators fall into two categories: phase1 negators which codify a speaker-detached strategy, and phase 2 negators which have a metalinguistic status and work to codify a speaker-intervenient strategy in discourse.

تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى إعادة النظر في عملية النفي في العربية الفصحى وذلك من منظور تلفّظي يولي أهمّية للعوامل السياقية ودور المتلفّظ، مشافهة أو كتابة، في إنتاج وتلقّي الملفوظات المنفية. وقد انبنت على فرضية أنّ استراتيجية المتلفظ الصّياغية هي مفتاح فهم منطق النفي في العربية. وبالرّغم من الثراء الميتالغوي للنفي في العربية الفصحى مقارنة باللغة الإنجليزية مثلا، فإنّ البحث في هذه العملية النحوية ظلّ مكتفيا بإسهامات النحاة الأوائل مثلما صيغت منذ قرون؛ وهذا ما يفسّر هيمنة المقاربة التقليدية على النحو التعليمي. وإذ تبين الدراسة أنّ من أوجه قصور المقاربتين المعيارية والوصفية شحن أدوات النفي المفرغة من المعنى بدلالات زمنية، فإنّها تطرح رؤية مغايرة لعمل أدوات النفي، استنادا إلى منهجية تلفّظية مقارنة ضمن عملية النفي وبين النفي ونظيره القطبي "الإثبات". وأمكن التفريق بين طورين للنفي، المجرّد والتصويغي (modalising)؛ إذ يرد الأوّل في سياقات الاستراتيجية الإفادية التي تحيل على مجرّد انتفاء العلاقة الإسنادية؛ في حين يرد نفي الطور الثاني ضمن استراتيجية تصويغية يكون فيها للفاعل اللغوي، أي المتلفظ، الدور الرّئيس في صياغة المعنى
