Faculty members in a higher education institution need to take on a multi-dimensional role and to be an effective educator they are required to possess a varied and wider range of roles and competencies. Preparing instructors for high quality education involves preparing them for a wide variety of roles and developing related competencies. However, the extent of emphasis required to be placed on each of these roles or competencies may vary according to its culture and the context. The current proposed study will obtain expert opinions to identify and prioritize SQU faculty members? roles in academic accreditation process. These results will have implications for high quality teaching and learning, institutional effectiveness, PD programs, continuous improvement, higher education system and further research pertaining to the context in Oman.
