Abstract
This article presents the contribution of XML, with all the derived languages such as XML Schema, XSLT, XPath, XQuery… in the Web development (so that becomes comprehensible as well by the machines by the human : "semantic Web"), in information research (through the metadata), as in the various collaborative
activities which can exist between the various users of the digital resources. This presentation is done through work of the Paragraphe laboratory at the Paris8 university, in fact HyWebMap which represents a system of creation and generation of spaces of information personalized starting from the Web.
