Abstract
Non-steady flow of an incompressible second order fluid between parallel plates has been analyzed under the action of a pressure gradient varying linearly with time. Expressions for the velocity and temperature distributions have been obtained and discussed numerically. The corresponding temperature profiles for a viscous incompressible fluid, earlier drawn by Verma and Gaur (1972), have been corrected to give an accurate description. The maximum of temperature occurs away from the central region in contrast to the earlier reportings.
