The role of faculty members in the development of leadership abilities of gifted and talented students at King Faisal University

Abstract

This study aims to identify the role of faculty members at King Faisal University in the development of leadership abilities of gifted and talented students. The study sample consisted of 150 members from King Faisal University during the 2018-2019 academic year. A questionnaire consisting of forty-four items about the role of the teaching staff in the development of leadership abilities of gifted and talented students was developed. The results showed that the role of the teaching staff had the most significant impact on the development of leadership abilities, followed by technical abilities and intellectual abilities. In addition, there were statistically significant differences in all dimensions of leadership abilities based on gender, teaching experience, and faculty. However, there were no statistically significant differences in all the dimensions of leadership abilities based on academic rank.
