Abstract
Supported by field data from "Shendi Province", which represents the southern part of the River Nile State in Sudan, the paper maintains that the "esoteric/exoteric duality" strongly affects the Sufis' perception of realities in the world. The Sufi arts, rituals, and performance could best be understood through the examination of this kind of duality thinking. Even, the esoteric/exoteric duality is basic in the Sufis' images and measurements.
