Abstract

The Sultanate of Oman is an emerging economy which has witnessed rapid development and a demographic shift over the last five decades. With such progressive changes and improvement in quality of life and living standards, the country has witnessed an increase in the rates of mental disorders. Despite the increasing need for mental health services across the country, there is a scarcity of such services in Oman due to severe shortage and maldistribution of facilities. This chapter outlines how Oman is delivering mental health services despite some massive challenges.
