Abstract
Nowadays, Manufacturing firms face a very highly turbulent market. A reconfigurable manufacturing firm is one designed for this purpose to new circumstances of the system's components. Components could be machines, materials handling equipments, etc. Although most reconfigurable manufacturing systems researches involve modeling, restructuring, simulation and reprogramming of manufacturing system, they didn't depend on the agility level and the current state of manufacturing firms. The objective of this paper is to measure the level of reconfiguration over time based on the current agility level and manufacturing firms design. To achieve this objective, a measurement of needed reconfiguration level will be presented based on these issues using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). The proposed approach will be demonstrated through using an illustrated example.
