L’Effet Positif de l’Imagerie Numérique dans les Projets de l’Archivage Electronique des Archives: une Solution pour les Services d’Archives des Pays Arabes.

Digital imaging of archival documents facilitates the preservation, transfer and access to digitized documents through information networks; the intranet and Internet. Initial planning of digital imaging in electronic archiving projects in archives centers guarantees carrying out a project corresponding to their particular conditions, and the response to the requirements of their users. This study analyses the obstacles faced by Archives who have started digital imaging projects and offers valuable suggestions to overcome these obstacles. In addition, it examines the benefits of archives digitalization, selection criteria of documents to be digitized, the planning principles, and the aspects that should be considered when carrying out such projects in the Arab Archives Centers.
