Isolation and structure identification of new cytokinins from Gleditsia caspia

Phytochemical investigation of the n-BuOH-soluble fraction of the alcoholic extract of the fruits of Gleditsia caspia (Leguminosae) resulted in the isolation and identification of three new cytokinin derivatives identified as 6-N-(3-methylbut-2-enylamino)-2-hydroxy-9-β-D-glucopyranosyl purine, 6-N-(cis-4-hydroxy-3-methylbut-2-enylamino)-2-hydroxy-9-β-D-glucopyranosyl purine, and 6-N-(3-methylbut-2-enylamino)-2-hydroxy-9-[β-D-apiofuranosyl- (1''→6')-β-D-glucopyranosyl] purine. The structures of the isolated compounds were established by 1D- (1H-, 13C- and DEPT) and 2D- (COSY, HMQC and HMBC) NMR analysis.
