Abstract

In this paper, we study the effect of torso orientation on the energetic of walking and on the lower limbs kinetic using simple mathematical biped model. The model incorporates the effects of both physical and kinematics constraints of the human locomotion. However, the torso movement of the biped model had been restricted in different ways to observe the effect of such restrictions on the gait. The results showed that walking with flexed torso causes changes in the profile of ground reaction force and the energetic of walking.
