Abstract
SE Asian species are arranged into 5 distributional categories and similarities between different geographical regions are discussed. SE Asian ostracod genera show affinities with those of other zoogeographical regions. Passive dispersal affecting freshwater ostracod distribution is discussed. The merits of the 'rice-seed' transport hypothesis in explaining freshwater ostracod distribution in SE Asia are considered.-from Authors
