Abstract
Sediments have been collected from Navalur Pond around Lakamanahalli industrial area and analysed for trace elements content like Cd, Pb, Ni, Cu, Zu, Mn, Fe, and Cr. Sediments showed 2 - fold increased level of studied elements concentration in comparison with relatively non-polluted values. Further, the results of correlation coefficient and t-test values indicating positive correlation in deposition and highly significant at 5% level of confidence. The higher content of trace elements in the pond sediments are attributed to the surrounding industrial activity.
