Abstract

This chapter discusses the findings from the content analysis of culture-focused articles selected from three open, distance, and online education journals and suggests implications of such findings. In doing so, the study is guided by theory, previous research, and expertise in the field of research and adopts the method of the content analysis of the sample of culture-focused articles in three international journals. A detailed content analysis of selected culture-focused articles was administered to determine the extent to which these articles represent culture. All three journals are available through the Taylor and Francis Online database, and they are classified under the subject of 'Open & Distance Education and eLearning'. This implies that the culture-focused articles published in these journals are mostly descriptive, anecdotal, and opinion-based articles. That is what the Asian authors, as it seems from this analysis, succeeded in doing by coming third in the number of culture-focused articles after the US and UK authors.
