Abstract

This research aimed at evaluating self-learning principles in the Islamic education textbook of the second secondary class in the Jordanian schools from teachers’ perspectives. The data were collected via questionnaire which consisted of (60) items divided into seven domains. These were: objects, content, content presentation, assessment, introduction, and technical editing. The population of the study consisted of Islamic Education teachers who teach the second secondary class equaling (354) in Irbid governate. A randomly selected sample of (190) teachers was selected. The results indicated that teachers’ rating of self-learning principles in the Islamic Education textbook content is the first domain, and technical editing domain at the last. There were no statistically significant differences attributed to both “gender” and “academic qualifications”.
