This research aims to investigate the effectiveness of applying Productive Pedagogies framework on promoting the development of teaching professional identity of Omani science and mathematics teachers, their teaching performance and their attitudes towards the framework. Omani science and mathematics teachers who are teaching grades (5-12) in the academic year 2018/2019 will participate in this study. For addressing the research aims a mixture of quantitative and qualitative research instruments will be applied. The quantitative research instruments will be conducted to explore teachers? perceptions of their professional identities, the contribution between professional identity and its influencing factors and the differences of teachers? perceptions based on personal and educational variables. Two groups of six teachers will be trained in a teacher professional development program aimed to introduce and apply Productive Pedagogies framework. The qualitative data (using deep classrooms observations, semi-structured interviews and group discussions) will be conducted to explore the development of teaching professional identity of Omani science and mathematics teachers, their teaching performance and their attitudes towards the framework. The qualitative and quantitative will be analyzed using Nvivo program and SPSS.
