Project Details

Description

This research project aims to investigate the role of art in serving the creative industries, and how to benefit from the potential of arts in marketing Omani heritage products, in addition to researching potential production models by integrating the motives of Omani heritage into the creative industries sector. The current research project uses the historical method in investigating the importance of the role of arts in the creative industries, and the experiments of countries in this sector. It also uses the descriptive analytical method in analyzing the traditional visual models and how to transform them into implementable products in the industrial, trade and economic sectors. The research project also will sue a semi-experimental research design methodology based-practice to produce creative business models and solutions inspired by the Omani heritage, while measuring their applicability in the creative industries sector. The implementation stage will start with producing the drawings and design of the creative products followed by printing examples and experimenting with them to reach final implementations of creative industry products and presenting them to the audiences. This project will rely on the use and employment of standardized research tools to process the results and data statistically. This research project will contribute in the development of the future vision towards the relationship of creative industries with the discipline of visual arts, and to present the Omani heritage in the form of commercial artistic products that can be marketed in an innovative way, which can be adopted in future plans to support the economy, whether at the level of individuals or small and medium commercial enterprises.
