Description

The regulation of data is an emerging field of law. Many countries across the Middle East are promulgating legislation to regulate the collection and handling of personal data. The free flow of data can be also limited by legal barriers and data localization requirements. The purpose of the research project resides in shedding light on this nascent field of law contemplating and analyzing MENA legislations. The main research objective pursued by this study is three-fold: 1) Shedding light on a nascent field of data law in the MENA region 2) Providing a comprehensive and exhaustive overview of the various characteristic of data regulation in the MENA region 3) Assessing the impact of data legislation on technology development in the middle east
