Project: Internal Grants (IG)

Project Details

Description

In today?s knowledge-based society, effective knowledge management (KM) in both private and public sector organizations has been shown to be associated with many business benefits. In the Government of Oman, effective knowledge management is crucial to help drive future economic and social development. However, little research has been conducted into knowledge sharing in the public sector of Oman and its impact on performance. The proposed study aims to fill this gap. It will include a longitudinal component in which an intervention designed to improve knowledge sharing will be implemented among a sample of government employees and the impacts evaluated using pre- and post-implementation surveys. The study is expected to be invaluable in generating information for use in developing future measures and initiatives to improve the effectiveness of knowledge sharing in this sector, which in turn is expected to result in positive impacts for overall organizational performance and future development of Oman.
