Description

Childhood is a crucial period at which children are more susceptible and easily influenced by the social context around them. Nowadays, children spend most of their daily time using screen devices for learning, socializing or gaming with reductions in daily physical activity. Physical inactivity, unhealthy diet, increased amounts of screen time have been well-known to have negative effects on lifelong psychosocial, mental physical health, and sensory kinesthetic abilities which all causing poor educational performance. Therefore the purpose of this study was to explore the level of sensory kinesthetic abilities for (1000) male and female students of the First Cycle of Basic Education in Muscat. Also, identify the impact of using a proposed training program on developing their sensory kinesthetic abilities using Vienna Test System (VTS). The study focus on the main sensory kinesthetic abilities such as figural memory, reaction time, cognitrone, adaptive matrices, determination tests. The findings of this study could contribute to generalize and promote a healthy lifestyle of young students in Oman and a novel contribution for the field of health and education. Furthermore the findings will help in developing evidence-based health promotion interventions to develop motor abilities for the young students.
