The Compatibility between Islamic Jurisprudence and Medical Sciences

Project: Internal Grants (IG)

Project Details

Description

The project aims to demonstrate the compatibility between Islamic texts regarding non- edible animals, such as cats and dogs, and medical science by conducting laboratory tests on a group of un- vaccinated animals (dogs and cats). The project is divided into an introduction that examines the compatibility between Islamic texts and medical science, highlighting its importance. This is supported by explaining the components and principles of compatibility. Following that is the practical application of a set of Islamic texts by conducting laboratory examinations on the basis of those texts. This includes bacterial and germ laboratory testing on five non-immunized dogs and five non-immunized cats, with three samples from each animal. Specifically, the project aims to achieve the following objectives: Differentiate between certainties, medical permissibilities, and changeable theories. Analyze the texts related to recently recognized non-halal animals from a jurisprudential perspective. Demonstrate the theoretical compatibility or divergence between Islamic texts and medical science through laboratory analysis. The project relies on the inductive approach to trace the texts in each issue, followed by the descriptive-analytical approach, which involves describing and analyzing these texts. Lastly, the experimental approach involves conducting laboratory analyses for each aspect of the specific issues.
