Project Details

Description

This project aims to develop a model of social relations based on Islamic Sharia, construct a scale that emanates from the proposed model, and examine its psychometric properties characteristics. Research shows the importance that social relations shapes human behavior with its influence on the social and cultural context in which the individual lives, which makes it one of the sources of mental health for individuals. The project will include three phases; In the first phase, a comprehensive theoretical review of the Qur?an and Sunnah is carried out to determine the most prominent features of Islamic etiquette related to the social behavior of the individual. The analytical approach will be adopted to derive Islamic etiquette related to social relations and social interaction. In the second stage, the content of etiquette is formulated in the form of a scale that includes behavioral expressions that measure the social behavior of an individual within a measurable behavioral framework. A pilot study will examine the new constructed scale, using face validity (judge?s evaluation) in addition to other statistical examinations of reliability and validity. Then, in the third stage, the scale will be applied to a sample of university students (300 male and female students from various faculties of the university). The data will be analyzed statistically to identify the psychometric proprieties (validity and reliability) of the proposed scale. The study will contribute to the production of a measure of social behavior emanating from Islamic Sharia that enables researchers to study the impact of social interactions of individuals to understand human behavior in various educational, cultural, practical and social contexts.
