Project Details

Description

Despite several global suggestions to encourage the participation of nurses, their contribution is not significant in changing national health policy decisions around the world (ICN, 2008; WHO, 2012). Thus, their involvement in formulating health policy needs to be reinforced. Unfortunately, there is a dearth in the published studies examining the nurses? participation in formulation and implementation of the health policy in particularly in the Middle east context (AbuAlRub Foudeh, 2017). The extensive literature search did not reveal any study which examine the level of involvement of nurses in formulating or implementing health policy in Oman Therefore, the aim of this study will be to assess the level of involvement in health policy among nurses working in public hospitals in Oman, examine the perceived barriers and benefits regarding their participation and the perceived ability and impact of their involvement on health outcomes. Results of the current study will generate evidence needed to create effective strategies to enhance nurses? role and participation in health policy development. The main aim of the current study is to assess the perceived level of involvement in development health policy among nurses working in public hospitals in Oman
