Project Details

Description

The study aims at providing Sponsor with a quantitative follow-up of the effects of the construction and operation of the Musandam Gas Plant in Musandam on the coastal ecosystem. Existing coral communities and newly created coral reef habitat (artificial habitat) will be monitored during three years and compared to the baseline surveys conducted before and during the coastal construction phase of the project. In addition, water quality variables (temperature, oxygen, turbidity, etc.) will be recorded and possibly linked to changes in the ecosystem. Capacity building through the support of two MSc students is key to this proposal. All deliverables under this Contract to the Sponsor shall be in English language.
