Investigation of the Environmental Impact of a Space Mission to Mars

Project: Other project

Project Details

Description

Human space missions to planet Mars have entered the testing phase on Mars-like environments on Earth, with the most recent test/analog mission taking place in Dhofar, Oman in Feb. 2018. While exploration missions aim to ensure minimal effect on the Mars? environment, a detailed investigation of the potential impacts is lacking. The proposed research will investigate the environmental impacts of a mission to Mars in light of the recent analog mission in Oman, utilizing satellite remote sensing and ground observations. The project outcomes will offer valuable insights to the development of further space exploration missions to Mars.
