Influence of Maternal nutrition on pregnancy and birth outcomes in a tertiary hospital in Oman . A prospective longitudinal study

The study is proposed to determine the Influence of Maternal nutrition on pregnancy and birth outcomes in Oman. The study will adopt longitudinal prospective research design. The study will be conducted in antenatal outpatient department and postnatal unit of SQUH. The study will determine the food taboos and beliefs pregnant women have during pregnancy. The study will also identify the dietary practices of pregnant women during pregnancy. The study will identify the factors influencing the dietary changes in terms of food taboos during pregnancy. The major outcome variable of the study is to identify the relationship between the dietary practices during pregnancy and pregnancy and birth outcomes.
