Graphene quantum dots electrochemiluminescence for biological and pharmaceutical applications

Project: Internal Grants (IG)

Project Details

Description

A new approach rely on incorporation of graphene quantum dots (GQDs) as luminescent nanoparticles for electrochemiluminescence (ECL) analysis of a number of biological and pharmaceutical species. The construction of the present system is based on controlling the experimental conditions used for preparation and deposition of GQDs onto a modified electrode surface composed of a thin polymeric film. Therefore, the resulting sensor is expected to be stable, reproducible and sensitive by which can generate remarkable ECL signals. With these important features, the detection limit for the selected biological and pharmaceutical species will be lowered to a certain extent compared with a traditional ECL system.
