Project Details
Description
In the proposed project, a highly precise sensorless control system is developed for piezoelectric actuators; these actuators are dominant actuators for nanopositioning (manipulation of matter at nanometre scale). As a result, this research will lead to development of precise sensorless nanopositioning systems. Removing sensors, with minor or no loss in accuracy or operation range, leads to significant decrease of cost and practical limits of nanopositioning systems, and their wider use in the areas like cell manipulation, robotic surgery, astronomical devices and precise manufacturing.
