Development of Novel Deep Learning Approaches for EOR Screening

Project: Internal Grants (IG)

Project Details

Description

Nowadays, hydrocarbon is producing mostly from the mature fields with depleted pressure as initial reservoir energy. For increasing hydrocarbon production, we need to implement methods to modify the reservoir rock and fluid properties. Some of these methods are categorized into Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR), which are very complex and challenging when we want to implement that for a specific reservoir. The first step for EOR is to rank best possible techniques that are feasible technically and economically. EOR screening can be considered as a tool for recommending the most appropriate EOR methods. Although for each candidate reservoir, the applicability of EOR processes must be investigated specifically, EOR screening can be used as an indicator before economic evaluations or reservoir descriptions are done and executive decisions are made. In this research, a tool will develop to do EOR screening as the first step for selecting the appropriate Enhanced Oil recovery method(s).
