Description

The proposed socio-economic study is part of a larger research project aimed at improving the effectiveness of the lobster fishery management in Oman. The main objective of this part of the research project is to gather relevant socio-economic, demographic and management related information through a questionnaire survey. The survey will involve the primary stakeholder group(i.e. lobster fishermen) only. The collected information will be processed and analyzed using appropriate statistical techniques so that the analytical results can be used for policy-making of the lobster fishery. This part of the study will also investigate the feasibility of a co-management approach by considering various pre-conditions for a successful co-management arrangement.
