Description
The proposed research aimed at investigations of copper-catalyzed C-H bond functionalization of amides bearing the novel-design-based 4-aminoantipyrine as a bidentate directing group. The research features the use of copper (Cu) as a cheap, earth-abundant environmentally benign metal and also the use of novel design-based 4-aminoantipyrine that we have developed in our laboratories. Various copper-catalyzed C-H bond functionalization reactions of amides bearing 4-aminoantipyrine will be investigated. The research proposal includes Cu-catalyzed C-H bond functionalization reactions of 4-aminoantipyrine amides such as arylation, with boronic acids, hydroxylation, alkynylation with terminal alkynes, and sulfenylation/thiolation.
