Project Details

Description

This qualitative study aims to investigate the nature of career and psychological challenges of SQU psychology graduates. Using a systematic grounded theory approach (Corbin and Strauss, 1990), this study will interview past and recent students/graduates from various psychology programs at Sultan Qaboos University, college of education. The study will also interview employers to explore the nature of challenges facing graduates and the job impact they have post graduation on job quality. Understanding those challenges are significant to programs, stakeholders, students, and the college, particularly in terms of improving current practices to meet the entrepreneurial needs of the Oman 2040 vision. The outcomes of this research will be significant to SQU, particularly in terms of understanding post graduation challenges that can impact graduate student enrollment at the university, in light of which review the current policies and practices regarding student admission to post graduate programs.
