Description

We previously constructed a versatile digital shearography system consisting of a Michelson interferometer and a high-resolution digital still camera to capture high-resolution specked interferograms. The system has already been applied for deformation measurements from a center-loaded test plate. We plan to increase the capabilities of the system in various ways, such as, by using a more powerful laser, adding vibration measurement capabilities, adding a complete nondestructive measurement capability, etc. New software for processing images and simulation software for calculating deformations will also be added.
