Academic and vocational qualification variables and the requirements of the labor market for information studies departments(Document Management) in the Sultanate of Oman in the period 210-2019 The study aims to identify the trends of the labor market in the Document Management and information sector by analyzing the content of job advertisements in the Sultanate of Oman in the period 210-2019, and the extent of support of the programs in the Departments of Information Studies to meet the required competencies in the labor market. To achieve this goal, the study followed the multi-design approach to collect data that answered the study questions. The study will use three methods: 1- the content analysis method to analyze the content of job advertisements in the Document Management and information sector; 2- the statistical descriptive approach, by distributing questionnaire to the sample; 3- the qualitative approach by conducting interviews with the sample; The sample of the study will be the inventory of job advertisements in the Document Management, information sector in the Sultanate of Oman published in the period from 210 to 2019. The questionnaire will be distributed to a sample of (400) graduates of the Information Studies Departments. The interviews will be conducted with (15) Document Management and Information Specialist, and the number of (15) managers of different information institutions. The results of the present study are expected to help harmonize the requirements of the labor market and the competencies of the information specialist training programs, as well as to reduce the gap resulting from the difference between the job titles and the titles of university degree programs in the Sultanate of Oman.
