Description

This course is an introductory course to understand the inter-relationship between the human economy and nature and address environmental and sustainability challenges locally and globally. A set of practical concepts and analytical tools will be presented, including externalities, economic efficiency, social cost-benefit analysis, damage functions, and abatement costs. Environmental policies and regulatory solutions regarding ecological degradation will also be discussed. Particular attention will be paid to pollution and climate change with relevant market and non-market policy solutions.
