An advanced course in the concepts of harbor design: coastal zone processes, wave and tide prediction, circulation, on/offshore sediment motion and the general concepts of numerical modeling. Design criteria including wave run-up and overtopping, wave forces and impact loading are reviewed. Emphasis is on developing the student's design skills.
