ملخص

The purpose of this review chapter is to explore the existing knowledge base in educational administration and leadership (EAL) in Egypt, hence responding to the calls of EAL scholars to enrich the global knowledge base in the field. The chapter also addresses the need to draw a clearer picture of the current EAL scholarship in Egypt in terms of its maturity as well as its relevance to the current reform efforts taking place in the country. It analyzes the EAL literature about Egypt published in English and Arabic journals in the period 2001-2021. Systematic and content analysis methods are used to identify the key features of this literature regarding publication volume, authorship trends, types of research studies, the composition of topics, and the research methods employed. The review findings are discussed in light of the global EAL literature and recommendations are provided to strengthen the existing knowledge base so as to better inform ongoing educational developments.
