ملخص

This paper focused on the Tagoi people of the north-eastern Nuba Mountains. The members of this group, traditionally organised as a pre-colonial kingdom, presently represent an internal diaspora population that lives in Khartoum and other urban areas in Sudan. They have been displaced by an ongoing armed conflict in their home areas. This displacement is exposing the Tagoi to external influences, including a Sudanese version of modernity, which has led the Tagoi to a loss of their social and cultural heritage. This paper discusses a few unique cultural features of the Tagoi and the events that are leading to cultural changes.
