This study aims to identify the national strategies of the Tunisian country to support the digital knowledge economy, which libraries and audiovisual information centers have benefited from to support their cultural and economic activities, through some national experiences such as the projects of digitizing musical and cinematic heritage and establishing cinematic and audio libraries. The study relies on the analytical approach of the most important texts of the plans and legislative texts that support the national strategy for digital Tunisia. It also relies on both the field approach and the qualitative approach through field visits and semi-structured interviews with officials in audiovisual information centers in Tunisia. The study concluded that the technological revolution forced libraries and information centers in Tunisia to interact with the needs of beneficiaries who prefer to deal with audiovisual information. It also imposed the adoption of a national strategy that supports the digital economy based on major programs that include all sectors, and is compatible with regional, Arab and global visions that rely on the use of "enablers" that stimulate the digital economy, "such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, big data, block chain, and others. This strategy is based on foundations that guarantee" Infrastructure”, “policies and legislation”, “digital skills” and “finance and capital”, with the use of the digital ecosystem for innovation that stimulates the digital economy. However, currently, Tunisian libraries and information centers are still in the early stages towards supporting the digital knowledge economy, as they are in the stage of digitizing audiovisual collections, establishing an infrastructure and revising legislative texts.
