ملخص

The study aimed to identify the level of quality of work life in its various
dimensions among the faculty members at Sultan Qaboos University and
examine the effect of some demographic variables (gender, college, and
years of experience, academic degree, nationality) on their perceptions of the
quality of their work life. To achieve these goals, the study followed the
descriptive approach. A questionnaire was applied which is consisting of
(32) statements distributed across seven dimensions (satisfaction with the
profession, general welfare, integration between family and work, work
pressure, management at work, working conditions, job relation). The study
sample consisted of (239) faculty members. The results of the study showed
that the level of the quality of work life among faculty members at Sultan
Qaboos University was high in all dimensions except work pressure which
was at a moderate level. The results also found statistically significant
differences in the participants’ perceptions according to gender in favor of
males, according to nationality in favor of non-Omanis. The study found no
statistically significant differences according to specialization, academic
degree, and years of experience. Based on the results, the researcher
recommended a set of measures that can enhance the quality of work life
among faculty members at Sultan Qaboos University. Some future studies
have also been proposed.
