ملخص

In the last ten years, various narrative arts had been dominated in the Omani literary scene. The Omani writers were concerned with the Omani humanitarian and social issue, more than their interest in global issues. The greatest interest of writers and thinkers of Oman remained directed towards internal matters, and interest in the stages of formation: society, internal politics, literature and the arts. The art of the short story in Oman had contributed to addressing the same issues. Even if the author's tools differed, the short story plays an important role in exploring society and the experiences of its members, by exploring different types of expression. Add to this the important role that literary writing provides to the collective consciousness, especially in the field of narration.
The research deals with the idea of the Mythic effect in the formation of texts through some fictional works that build some of their stories on addressing reality through the mythical, or symbolizing it, including collections by Abdullah Al-Taie, Rahma Al-Meghzoui, Suad Ali Nasser, and others. The idea of the myth that we are discussing in the Omani short story revolves around a non-abstract myth, so that our conclusions follow about imagined mythical events created by the book about an event, or a specific personality, associated with one region, which is Oman. Hence, what we present in this study is what we can call "the myth without an external center", as there are some myths that are rooted in the conscience of the Omani people, and have become a part of it.
The study attempts to answer some questions related to the human factor, such as: ‘How does myth contribute to building human thought? What are the different means of expression in the Omani short story? Is there a birth to what we can call the Omani Myth, and what is its specificity? On the other hand, an important question arises: What role does the story play in acquiring anthropological knowledge?
