Volunteer work in the Omani society (Reality and Challenges): A field study on voluntary organizations

This study aims to explore voluntary work organizations in the Sultanate of Oman, and finding its domains and activities. Seeking to support and organize this effective field, believing in its importance in developing the community. Moreover, this study is attempting to come over the obstacles that face either the volunteers, the voluntary institution or the societies' culture towards the culture of voluntary work. Aiming to come up with recommendations, which will contribute in activating its role in the community. 1- Studying the reality of voluntary services its domains and activities, which is provided from voluntary work organizations that is recorded in the ministry of social development (MOSD). 2- Revealing the factors that help voluntary work organizations in the Omani society to implement its voluntary services. 3- Presenting suggestions to activate. 4- Offering suggestions in order to activate voluntary work organizations role in Omani society and supporting it to overcome the obstacles that it face. The study will be based on a descriptive approach since it describes the situation, then it interprets it and provide solutions and recommendations to the study. The study will be applied to all the sultanate governorates of which have registered voluntary organizations in the ministry of social development (MOSD). Using questionnaire as study tool and interview from the study sample with SPSS program to analyze the data.
