Aim: The main purpose of this study is to assess the unmet needs of cancer patients in Oman and to explore the relationship between the unmet needs and the psychological distress and symptoms burden. Design: This study will use a longitudinal, descriptive, correlational design where data will be collected over six months in three periods of time (i.e., month, three, and six months later). Sample and settings: Using convenience sampling, 525 patients with cancer will be to recruited to participate in the study. The sample size is calculated using G*Power 3.0 software. This study will be conducted in Sultan Qaboos University Hospital and Sultan Qaboos Comprehensive Cancer Care and Research Centre. Analysis: Data will be entered in the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) (version 26). Three levels of statistical test will be used, which are descriptive, inferential, and correlation.
