تفاصيل المشروع

Description

This is a large-scale national study that aims to:
(1) Establish baseline measures of the nursing practice environment, nursing job
outcomes, and quality indicators of patient care in the Sultanate of Oman;
(2) Examine the impact of the quality of practice environment and nurse staffing
(organizational-level measures) on nurse and patient outcomes at the national
level; and
(3) Provide nurse leaders and policymakers with strategies for establishing
supportive environments that enhance the efficiency of nursing practice and,
ultimately, improving patients’ health.

A proportional stratified clustered sampling technique was used to select hospitals in order to ensure a general representation of different regions in Oman. Hospitals will be stratified based on the (1) type: public and private inpatient hospitals, and (2) location: based on Governorates in Oman and distance from the capital city Muscat. The sample was proportional to the representation of the healthcare party (MOH, Non-MOH, and private) for the patients, nurses, and physicians samples. The sample covered all geographical areas of the Sultanate.
