The Role of Art Education's Teacher in Developing Designs of Traditional Crafts in Oman

Through this project, the researchers investigate the role of art education teacher in developing designs of the Omani traditional crafts with regards to contemporary markets and local people's demands. This research depend on using applied descriptive methodologies, where the research's participants will work in cooperative designing groups in the Art Education Department's workshop using Bauhaus Design Strategy rather than usual theoretical methods as conducted in previous comparable researches. Consequently, the research's team select both Art Education teachers from the field (Ministry of Education), and Department of Art Education's graduates as samples to conduct this research with quality and producing valid results in the end of the project. The research's team expect to produce a tangible crafted objects and analyze them later, and in the end of the project the research team will make a clear recommendations for both the Public Authority for Crafts Industries (PACI) and educational institutions in Oman.
