The Effect of using digital educational models for scientific inquiry in visual arts on developing visual thinking skills, and fostering self-efficacy beliefs among students of basic education in Oman and their attitudes towards it

This research project aims to build digital educational models based on the elements of scientific inquiry and science processes in the field of education and learning of visual arts. We will measure their impact on the skills of visual thinking and self-efficacy beliefs of basic education students, measuring students' attitudes about using the educational models in digital learning environments. The research project requires the construction of a range of instruments. The most important of which is the testing of scientific inquiry in the visual arts, the measure of visual thinking skills based on scientific inquiry in the visual arts, the measure of self- self-efficacy beliefs associated with the components of scientific inquiry in the visual arts, and the measure of learners' attitudes towards digital educational models. All these will be established through reviewing the recent literature and research studies. The project?s sample will be selected from cycle 2 and post-basic education in Oman. This research project will follow the mixed approach including exploratory sequential design by reviewing the related literature, as well as qualitative and quantitative analysis of collected data to be reached through experimentation procedures. The classic test theory will be used in processing the data statistically. This research project will contribute to the development of visual arts education by developing students' thinking patterns and training them in practical research and innovation. This will be happened through the practice of science processes, opening up prospects for curriculum integration, as well as activating students' digital technology skills while learning the arts.
