Strategies for integration of systems of two and more non-linear second-order ordinary differential equations (ODEs) via Lie point symmetries.

Lie's theory is widely used in finding solutions of differential equations by doing either linearization or reduction of order of such equations. Many researchers have developed methods of integration, linearization and reduction of order of some systems of differential equations. This project intends to focus on making use of the existing methods to develop and use other methods for finding the solutions of such systems. We intend to make use of the program Maple to avoid tiresome and tedious computations for finding Lie point symmetries before we make use of them for the reduction of order.
