Soil Investigation at Area A, Duqm Region,

The EMC is to conduct soil investigations utilizing geological and geophysical surveys to determine soil type and soil characteristics and extent. Soil sample will be collected utilizing manual drilling and soil boring techniques. Grab water samples will be collected when encountered during drilling and through few piezometers installed during the soil boring drilling program. There are three geophysical surveys suggested for such a task: seismic refraction, MASW, and Horizontal to Vertical Spectral Ratio (HVSR) for ambient noise techniques. The geophysical surveys will be conducted on a specified proposed locations determined by SQU/SEZAD in area A.
