Parental Involvement in Inclusive Classrooms at Omani Schools

Successful implementation of inclusive education programs requires the involvement and support of the parents of disabled children at all level. The aim of the present study is to investigate the role of parents in educating their children in inclusive classrooms at Omani schools as perceived by principals, teachers, and parents themselves. Specifically, the present study seeks to (1) examine the importance of parents' involvement in their children education at inclusive classrooms from the perspective of principals, teachers, and parents, (2) identify activities used by parents to get involved in their children's education at inclusive classrooms, (3) identify barriers of parents' involvement in their children's education at inclusive classrooms from perspective of principals, teachers, and parents, and (4) identify attitudes of principals, teachers, and parents towards applying inclusive education within Omani schools. The cohort of the study will include1000 participants (200 principals, 500 teachers, and 300 parents of children in inclusive classroom in primary schools in Oman. The present study uses descriptive research design which describes data and characteristics about the population or phenomenon being studied.
